COVID Update and Continued Services

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on many of the businesses we serve. It is essential right now that all businesses and essential workplaces have clear and functional signage.

Clear signage supports streamlined services and reiterates the importance of safety measures. Spacing signage decreases the potential spread of the illness by cutting back on unnecessary physical contact.

Signs and Stitches serves the greater Ottawa area and all measures have been taken to ensure the safety of our team. Those who can work remotely are and only two employees remain in the shop. These two employees also live together in our shop/home location.

The team at Signs and Stitches has been busy helping local businesses fulfill the needs we’ve listed below. Let us know how we can be of assistance to your and your essential business during this difficult time. At this time we offer free telephone or online signage consultations. Signage application/installation will be arranged on a case-by-case basis to ensure the safety of our clients and team alike.

Please contact us with any signage needs you have during this difficult time. We would be honoured to help.

Healthcare:

Proper signage should be used in Family Practices, Hospitals, Long-Term Care Homes and really, any healthcare-related building that remains open to patients/residents. Signage can be basic to encourage proper handwashing or detailed to help ensure all staff understand new safety policies. Floor signs are useful in encouraging social distancing in smaller spaces.

Restaurants:

Without dine-in options, many restaurants are now relying on new “curbside pick up” arrangements. Proper, well thought out signage helps customers to understand how the process works at your restaurant. Consider detailed way-finding signage, parking lot signage and clear instructions for your valued patrons.

Grocery:

Every person who has gone to a grocery store since March 2020, knows that the experience has drastically changed from start to finish. Grocery stores should consider applying floor signage (arrows, distance measures, etc). We also recommend you consider using the newly installed plastic barriers as a space to add important signage. Think about the experience from beginning to end, walk through your store as though you are a customer, do you have the signage you need to make the experience as safe and efficient as possible?

Every Business:

For every business, we suggest considering your hours of operation - have they changed? Do your clients know and understand how COVID-19 impacts their relationship with you? Consider properly branded signage on brick and mortar buildings to assist customers/clients in reaching you during a business close/change. We also suggest that you update your social media channels and website to prevent frustrations.
